Canadian low-cost carrier WestJet announced Friday that from September 25, 2023, its passengers will have access to 31 additional cities in 11 European countries from Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport, thanks to the expansion of WestJet's codeshare agreement with Air France.

Through a successful 10-year partnership, the two airlines have connected millions of travelers between Canada and Europe with the convenience of a one-way ticket and the opportunity to earn WestJet Dollars along the way. Previously, the codeshare agreement between WestJet and Air France included 22 destinations via Charles De Gaulle airport, all of which will be maintained, while the number of destinations in Europe now rises to 53 that will be accessible as part of the WestJet network.

"WestJet is delighted to more than double its current destination offering through our codeshare agreement with Air France, significantly increasing the opportunities for Canadians to turn their dream European getaways into reality," said Chris Avery, WestJet's Vice President, Business Development. Due to exceptional demand for its seasonal service to the "City of Love", WestJet has expanded its service between Calgary and Paris to operate year-round. This formerly seasonal route will continue to operate on WestJet's 787 Dreamliner up to seven days a week during peak periods. It will serve "as an ideal connecting hub for our customers to seamlessly connect on Air France to these additional destinations", completes the Canadian low-cost carrier's press release.
