Buying planes means hiring a crew! Turkish Airlines in talks with Airbus to order 355 Aircraft
Buying planes means hiring a crew! Turkish Airlines engaged in discussions with the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus on Saturday to explore the possibility of ordering 355 new aircraft, as reported by the government news agency Anadolu.
During the meeting held in Istanbul, Turkish Airlines representatives deliberated on acquiring 75 A350-900 wide-body aircraft, 15 A350-1000 wide-body aircraft, 250 A321neo single-aisle aircraft, and five A350-F freight aircraft, in addition to the previously agreed-upon 10 A350-900 aircraft.
If an agreement is reached, this order would be the largest in the history of the Turkish national airline. In May, Turkish Airlines President Ahmet Bolat stated that the airline planned to order a total of 600 new aircraft to be delivered within a 10-year timeframe. Part of the order would be optional, and the final order would depend on a decision by the Ankara government.
Representatives from Turkish Airlines also held discussions with the British engine manufacturer Rolls Royce for engine maintenance services and spare engines for the A350 wide-body aircraft, as reported by the Anadolu agency.
