On Monday, airport operator Groupe ADP revealed an 8.4% increase in passenger traffic in May compared with the same period in 2023.
Last month, the airports administered by the group recorded a total of 31.4 million passengers, marking an increase of almost 10% compared with May 2019, before the pandemic, according to a company statement.
Focusing on Paris Airport, traffic grew by 2.5% in May 2024 compared with May 2023, with 9.1 million passengers. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport welcomed 6.1 million passengers (up 3.2% on May 2023), while Paris-Orly welcomed almost 3 million (up 1%). Together, Paris Airport achieved 98.5% of its May 2019 traffic levels, the reference year (107.7% for Orly and 94.6% for Roissy CDG).
In the first five months of the year, ADP Group traffic increased by 10.1% compared with the same period in 2023, reaching 136.9 million passengers, or 106.3% of its pre-Covid level. Subsidiary TAV Airports, which manages Istanbul Atatürk Airport, welcomed 9.75 million passengers in May, up 17% on May 2023 and 12% on May 2019.
